CRŪ Reset Retreat Day 2

Good Morning,

  • Upon waking, try not to check your phone for the first hour

  • Do a full body scan. This can be as simple as thinking about each body part and wiggling it around

  • When you get out of bed, shake your entire body. All the limbs, fingers, scrunch your face up and relax - engage your entire body! You can even do this in bed if you are feeling lazy.

Fun Fact: Animals shake their whole body as a way of shaking out the tension. Remember this for when you are feeling stressed out.

Morning Beverage

Allow your morning to be slow while sipping on your beverage. You can always substitute this with warm water.

Celery Juice (1 serving)

  1. Take 9-12 stalks of celery

  2. Place in a juicer.

  3. If you do not have a juicer, cut stalks into 1 inch pieces and blend with 1/4 cup of water until smooth.

  4. Place clean cheesecloth over the mouth of a pitcher and pour the blended celery through the cheesecloth/nut bag. Use your hands to squeeze the celery juice through the bag.

  5. Enjoy immediately to maximize the benefits

Breathing Meditation

Start with some simple breath work before you start your mantra. Close your eyes. Breathe in to the count of four, hold for one, exhale for five counts. Repeat for three breath cycles. I like to play soothing music in the background.

Daily Personal Mantra:

Repeat your personal mantra out loud or in your mind three times.

“I am strong. I am adaptable. I will persevere.”

Finish it off with your three deep breath cycles from the breath work you just did. Pause for a moment afterwards, let it sink in. Believe in it. Take mental notes of how you feel.

Morning Pages

  • Grab your journal or make notes in your phone. Sit in a comfortable seated position with your eyes close and do a full body scan. Start with bringing attention to your feet and work your way up to the crown of your head. Rate your mental and physical state on a scale of 1-10. Be honest here, no one else will see this but you.

  • Take the next few minutes to fill one page full of thoughts without picking up your pen. This is your time to reflect on how repeating the mantra made you feel and to get any other thoughts down on paper. If you’ve done exercises like this before, they are often referred to as your “Morning Pages”. Even if you don’t have anything to say, you can just write “I don’t know what to say” over and over again. The thought behind this is to get your brain going and working for the morning.

~ Enjoy the rest of your morning <3

Good Afternoon,

Afternoon Pick Me Up:

Legs up the wall for one minute

- You can put legs up against a wall for more restorative pose. Be sure to scoot as close as you can to the wall. For a more active pose, you can put your legs up with the support of your core and/or arms.

Journal Prompt

“Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.” —Wayne W. Dyer

A friend of mine put this quote in his blog and I took some time to reflect on his words.

The last few weeks in solitude we have all had to retrain our minds at some capacity. We have had to completely stop and evaluate almost every aspect of our lives. We have had to show up and do it anyway. Our brains are already in motion to be retrained, so how can we use this for self improvement? While we may not have the answers to everything, can we retrain our brains to trust that we have the answers when it comes to our own true selves and our own personal journey? Our minds are so complex. It is fascinating what we as humans, can endure. We have proven that we are resilient, adaptable creatures . This has been an extreme character developing event in all of our lives. We have the power to control how we let it affect us. How can we incorporate these thoughts to find peace in this new way we are living?
